About Me

About Me

I was born in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia, and spent my growing up years in Kuala Lumpur and Seremban. After secondary school, I was awarded a government scholarship to study in England, where I lived for 5 years, doing A-levels in St. Albans for 2 years and graduating 3 years later with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.

When I returned to Malaysia, I worked for 10 years in the areas of customer relations, retail management, market research and database management. During that time, I was instrumental in helping the company set up and head a new market forecast department in our Kuala Lumpur office, replicating the one in Japan. I also spearheaded the setting up of the company’s resource centre before I left in year 2000 to pursue my love of translation.

I have since been certified as a translator, attended numerous seminars on translation, and provided guidance and work to junior translators. My network of contacts now includes other professional translators and industry experts, whom I can count on to cooperate as team members whenever I land a large project.
